Dear Sir,

it is probably you whom I have to thank for re-
ceiving from Rowohlt a copy of G. Szczesny's "Ein
Buddha für das Abendland". In England also we
have journalists who write about things they know
nothing about, and Mr. Szczesny could have a fine
career on our "Daily Express". I sent him a friend-
ly note with my comments, but have had no reply so
far.

Meanwhile I have dictated a part of my Auto-
biography
. Since it is that of a German scholar
in exile it might interest people in Germany. As
a translator of Laing you might wish to translate
me next? Shall I send you the first 45 pages, just
retyped, to look at?
